PJ Tucker, his teammate during their Houston Rockets days, is also part of the Harden package.
Many Sixers fans felt relieved they could finally move on from the conflict between general manager Daryl Morey and Harden, whose showed his lack of interest in playing for the Sixers.
The Clippers, on the other hand, got a former MVP capable of scoring and dishing out in double figures. A good move, one might say.
Eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter has a different take, though.
He believes the Clippers do not need Harden right now.
Why rock the boat?
Carter points out that the Clippers already established their chemistry with Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard as their leaders, and Harden's arrival .
He also questioned how the one-time MVP can be assimilated into the team with their surplus of guards.
"There's no way Harden comes off the bench," Carter said during an appearance at the Fan Duel show "Run it Back".
"But Russ has been playing great basketball, and that's what you want. I mean, why rock the boat when you don't have to? I thought the Clippers were playing great basketball. I'm interested to see who goes to the bench, and do you want to start those four? I'm trying to keep those guys happy and healthy. Those are my two concerns for the Clippers."
